P&G Food Recall
The Proctor and Gamble Company has issued a voluntary recall for specific lots of dry pet foods because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. It is important to note these points:
-
The recall involves very specific lot numbers - not all foods are affected. Please consult the accompanying link to see if you have one of the suspected foods.
-
There have been no illnesses to date regarding this potential problem. This is precautionary recall.
-
The lots suspected represent 0.1% of the annual production, so a relatively small number of bags are suspect.
-
Salmonella can also affect people, so this could potentially be a human health risk.
However, since the safety of you and your pet is involved, we urge you to check your foods and if you find that you possess a bag that fits the correct lot numbers, discontinue feeding the product, throw it away, and call P&G at 800-208-0172
